Products To De-Brass Blondes

Updated: Sep 21, 2020

Leaving the salon after a fresh bleaching, with that perfectly toned blonde hair is such a great feeling. What happens 2 weeks later? Those bright blonde highlights start to turn a little golden, dare we say Brassy?!? Its an easy phix, when you have the right stuff to maintain that tone. Here is our favorite shower shampoo routine to keep that blonde from brassing out!

Step one: Start with a clarifying-ish shampoo like Paul Mitchele's Tea Tree Special shampoo. It will get all the build up off your hair and scalp. That build up whether from product or natural oils will sit on the surface of your hair and when you blow dry or add heat will bake that build up into the hair- Voila BRASS. So use this to get it off first.

Second very important step: FANOLA

This stuff is highly pigmented and will help to keep your blonde the perfect tone. Leave it on for the rest of your shower (after the first step) or at least 3-5 mins. Then rinse. For maximum deposit, skip the first step and apply Fanola to dry hair and leave on for 15-20 before you even get in the shower.

Step 3: Color Depositing Mask. Morocan Oil products always smell delicious and work so well. They recently came out with this color depositing mask. ITS AMAZING! Leave it on for 3 mins to condition and add just a little more debrassing tones. ps. They have a rose gold version....

Last but not least, IGK's Toning drops. These are super cool as final step, or a secret weapon. You can add these drops to your styling paste and emulsify in your hands before you style your hair, basically add this to your hair products that you apply with you hands.

Choose one or chose them all, the main thing that will keep your hair de-brassed or atleast fading nicely, is keeping it clean from build up that will turn orangatangy over time. Keep it clean, then add the right pigment to gloss the top.
